Presentation of the enterprise
SIT-mauricie’s mission is to stimulate the social and work integration of individuals with mental health problems. Organized into a corporation, it operates 5 service points in the mauricie region. A unique social economy enterprise in the territory, its services are grouped into 3 broad categories: sub-contracting services; metal recovery and recycling service, particularly in telecommunications field; and charmille, a stained-glass workshop.
Their most positive social impact is maintaining people’s skills by enabling them to pursue employment in a setting that is adapted to their capacities. Sit mauricie improves the lives of individuals with mental health problems and helps them with social integration to they can assume their role as full citizens.
“The RISQ investment allowed us to develop the metal recovery project with the injection of working capital. This service is now growing; it needed financial support to further its development. Sit was thereby able to consolidate 20 jobs in this service. Technical assistance was also extremely helpful in helping us detail our financial strategy for the next few years and target actions to improve the enterprise’s financial profitability.”
