Personal services + accommodations
Presentation of the enterprise
Founded 28 years ago in the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, PROMIS fulfils its mission every day, assisting immigrants and refugees through various services and collective action projects.
Since the beginning, the group has been driven by the values of solidarity, mutual aid, inclusion, and social justice. Over the years, promis has served thousands of immigrants and refugees and provided practical assistance to integrate them into Québec society in the form of settlement assistance (housing, donations of clothing, furniture, etc.), support to access public and community services (especially health and education), job counselling, psychosocial support, accompaniment to other regions of Québec, and, since 2004, housing for women (18 and over) from Québec and elsewhere.
“RISQ has been a fundamental lever (with the chantier de l’économie sociale trust) to gain access to the necessary financing so we could complete a major overhaul of the public washrooms in our housing service (résidence maria-goretti) which serves over 600 residents per year. The Maria-Goretti residence, with its 220 rooms, constitutes our social economy component. In addition, RISQ’s experienced financial analysts provided top-level technical assistance and a highly appreciated accessible and humane approach.”
